OpenAI to lift text-chat rate limits on ChatGPT Free and Go tiers

Starting next week, OpenAI will remove text-chat rate limits for ChatGPT Free and Go tier users. Only text messages are affected; file uploads and images stay capped. The change narrows the gap with the paid Plus tier for plain-text conversations, while multimodal and volume limits remain tier-gated.
