Iran broadens Red Sea threat beyond the Gaza war

Iran told Yemen's Houthis to ready closing the Red Sea oil route — which carries about 12% of seaborne crude — if the U.S. strikes Iranian infrastructure, Reuters reported. The Houthis had linked attacks solely to Gaza. Now a U.S.-Iran clash could trigger closure independently, even if Gaza's war ends.
