
Microsoft: console memory prices up 2.5x, expected to double again by autumn 2027
Microsoft stated in June 2026 that console memory and storage prices have risen more than 2.5 times and expects them to double again by autumn 2027. The cause: Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron have sold out all 2027 DRAM and HBM capacity, with AI data centres absorbing nearly 70% of DRAM supply, according to DigiTimes via GameSpot.
