Guild Wars 3 confirms three of four launch species, including first-time playable Kodan

ArenaNet confirmed in a 6 August 2026 developer blog post that Humans, Asura and the Kodan — a bear-like people playable for the first time in the franchise — are three of four playable species at Guild Wars 3's launch. The fourth remains unannounced. Guild Wars 2 has carried the same five races since its 2012 release.
