Henry Pryor, inventor of the Merlyn bowling machine behind England's 2005 Ashes win, dies aged 92

Henry Pryor, who invented the Merlyn bowling machine that helped England reclaim the Ashes in 2005 after an 18-year wait, has died aged 92. Pryor built Merlyn in a Welsh barn with retired engineer Gordon Rye, creating a programmable machine that could reproduce Shane Warne's leg spin and Brett Lee's pace. Andrew Strauss said it "played a pretty big part" in the series.
