Ahmedabad house adapts pol architecture: noise-cutting walls, dust-shedding roofs, stair flights that land in living rooms

Dezeen profiled LJ House, a 585-square-metre, four-storey Ahmedabad residence by Studio Saransh and Iksoi Studio, on 6 August 2026. The home for six draws on pols — Ahmedabad's gated traditional neighbourhoods. A high boundary wall buffers street noise. Discontinuous stair flights open onto shared living spaces. Curved roofs reduce structural load and shed dust in the dry climate. Studio Saransh associate partner Mansi Mistry discussed the design with Dezeen.
