Bangor's Ben Arthurs clears anti-doping ban, available for Irish Premiership opener

Bangor striker Ben Arthurs is free to play again after completing a three-month anti-doping ban. UKAD found benzoylecgonine, a cocaine metabolite, in a sample taken after Bangor's 4-0 defeat by Glentoran on 10 March. An independent expert concluded the cocaine was used recreationally before match day, meeting UKAD's threshold for a reduced suspension. Arthurs, 28, is eligible to face Cliftonville at Clandeboye Park on 15 August.
