Nintendo's Q1 profit surge driven partly by US tariff refunds

Nintendo's Q1 operating profit jumped 150.5% to $902 million, but about $300 million came from US tariff refunds applied as a cost-of-sales reduction. Net sales fell 9.5% year-on-year to 517.8 billion yen. A pending lawsuit alleges Nintendo passed tariff costs to consumers via higher Switch prices while keeping the refunds.
