Minecraft Switch 2 version dated for 27 October; paid upgrade path for existing owners

Mojang has confirmed a 27 October release for a dedicated Minecraft Nintendo Switch 2 version. The port adds "Vibrant Visuals" — enhanced lighting and shadows — plus native optimisation beyond the backward compatibility already running the game on Switch 2. Existing Switch owners can upgrade, but Mojang said the upgrade does not appear to be free, with details to follow.
