Geelong shifted brain-injury liability to concussed player in secret deal

Geelong secretly required a player with prior concussions to assume legal liability for any future on-field brain injury, shielding the club. The board cleared the deal two years ago, per the Herald Sun. The AFLPA says it may breach competition rules and Australian law, and is in talks with the AFL. A class action involving 100-plus former players is headed to trial next year.
