Apple TV+ drops 'Bonfire of the Vanities' series; Warner Bros. TV shops it elsewhere

Apple TV+ will not proceed with its series adaptation of Tom Wolfe's 1987 novel 'The Bonfire of the Vanities' after months of development, Deadline reported on 5 August 2026. Warner Bros. Television and David E. Kelley Productions are now shopping the project — written by Kelley, directed by Matt Reeves — to other buyers.
