FCC to Vote August 6 on Repealing 39% National TV Ownership Cap

The FCC is scheduled to vote on 6 August on repealing an 85-year-old rule capping any single company's TV station reach at 39% of US households. Republican Chair Brendan Carr drives the repeal. Democratic Commissioner Anna Gomez argues only Congress can remove the cap, which lawmakers enacted into statute in the 1990s.
