National Gallery convenes UK's first museum citizens' assembly
London's National Gallery selected 50 people by civic lottery from 15,000 UK households invited; over 60 percent had never visited before. The panel, "NG Citizens," met five times since November 2025, guided by external advisors. Its recommendations, distilled into eight principles, are due in autumn 2026. The gallery plans a permanent panel to continue public input. Director Gabriele Finaldi said he was "proud" of the initiative.
