LIV to slash schedule and prize money by two-thirds from 2027, hand players majority equity
CEO Scott O'Neil announced on 5 August that LIV Golf will shrink from 14 events at $30 million each to 10 at $10 million each from 2027. Players will receive majority equity in the restructured tour. Saudi Arabia's PIF, which backed LIV with an estimated $5 billion, is withdrawing. An unnamed lead investor has signed a board-approved term sheet funding the tour through 2030.
