Russian drone destroys Ukraine's last 18th-century wooden Cossack church in Beryslav

A Russian drone strike over 1–2 August 2026 burned down the Holy Vvedenska Church in Beryslav, Kherson region. Built in 1725 from fortress oak without nails, it was Ukraine's last 18th-century wooden Cossack church, officials said. The Kherson Oblast State Administration reported the structure was completely destroyed. Skeiron, a Lviv heritage group, is seeking photographs for a digital model.
