Disney tells shareholders theatrical is "just one data point" after two franchise films fall short

Disney beat its fiscal Q3 2026 profit forecast on parks strength, but CFO Hugh Johnston called theatrical "just one data point" in a "portfolio game." The Mandalorian and Grogu opened to a series low in May; live-action Moana grossed $95 million worldwide against a hoped-for $130 million.
