The Green Eyes trailer premieres as Locarno's 79th edition opener

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively premiered the trailer for The Green Eyes (Les Yeux Verts), the refugee adventure drama opening the 79th Locarno Film Festival on 5 August 2026. Directors Fanny Liatard and Jérémie Trouilh (Gagarine) co-wrote with Guillaume Laurant (Amélie). The film draws on Resignation Syndrome, in which traumatised refugee children fall into coma-like withdrawal. Kinology handles international sales.
