Bret Easton Ellis's 'The Shards' gets first TV adaptation, premiering across FX, Hulu and Disney+

Bret Easton Ellis's novel 'The Shards' premieres August 5 as a nine-episode series on FX, Hulu and Disney+ — the first TV adaptation of his work. Co-created by Ellis and Ryan Murphy, it opens at Halloween 1981 in Los Angeles. Cast includes Evan Rachel Wood, Wes Bentley and Kaia Gerber. The Hollywood Reporter notes the finale reaches no conclusion; FX has not announced a renewal.
