Trans pregnancy short 'Aman' premieres at Toronto as India strips trans self-identification rights

Rahul Roye's short "Aman," about a trans man who discovers he is pregnant before gender-affirming surgery, world-premieres in Toronto's Short Cuts programme on Sept. 10–20. India's 2026 amendment to the Transgender Persons Act removes the right to self-identification and places legal recognition of trans people with medical boards and state authorities, Variety reports.
