Sony's cut of Call of Duty Black Ops ports: roughly US$130 million in under a month
Two decade-old Call of Duty titles shadow-dropped on PlayStation on 9 July sold 11 million-plus copies for about US$435 million, analyst Rhys Elliott estimated. Sony's 30% platform cut — a storefront's share of each sale — nets roughly US$130 million. Microsoft owns publisher Activision, yet Elliott said that revenue makes Xbox exclusivity for Call of Duty unlikely.
