Disney Eyes Free Ad-Supported Streaming Channels, CEO D'Amaro Confirms
Disney is considering launching FAST channels — free ad-supported streaming TV with scheduled, linear-style programming — CEO Josh D'Amaro confirmed on 5 August 2026. He told investors the offering would act as a "funnel" to drive Disney+ and Hulu sign-ups among price-sensitive viewers. Disney is "fairly well sold" on existing ad inventory, so more ad slots would accelerate revenue growth. D'Amaro said nothing specific was ready to announce.
