Rain washes out Ireland's first ODI in over a year; second match set for Friday at Bready

Persistent rain at Bready abandoned Ireland's first ODI since May 2025 without a ball bowled, called off at 12:27 after a 10:45 BST start never materialised. The washout also delayed Gary Wilson's competitive debut as Ireland head coach. The five-match Afghanistan series continues with the second ODI on Friday at Bready, before the final three move to Stormont.
