Saudi-Backed Consortium Completes US$55B Acquisition of Electronic Arts, Largest Leveraged Buyout Ever

A consortium of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake, and Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners has completed its roughly US$55 billion acquisition of Electronic Arts, EA confirmed on 4 August 2026. The deal, announced 29 September 2025, is the largest leveraged buyout in history. Shareholders receive US$210 per share in cash; EA will delist from NASDAQ, ending its public run since 1989. The European Commission and US FTC both cleared the transaction. PIF rolled over its existing 9.9% stake.
