NBA Europe Set for October 2027 Launch With 16 Teams, $500m–$1bn Franchise Bids

The NBA plans to launch NBA Europe in October 2027 alongside the 2027-28 season. The FIBA-backed league would field 16 teams — 12 permanent franchises plus four qualifiers.
