Alcaraz withdraws from Cincinnati, US Open defence in doubt

World number two Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open, starting 11 August, with an ongoing wrist injury, tournament director Bob Moran confirmed. Alcaraz, 23, has not played since April's Barcelona Open. With no return date set and the US Open beginning 30 August, his hard-court title defence faces serious doubt.
