EA goes private as Saudi-led US$55 billion buyout completes

On 4 August 2026, Electronic Arts completed its US$55 billion acquisition by a consortium led by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, with Silver Lake and Affinity Partners. Shareholders received US$210 per share in cash. The deal, announced September 2025, ended EA's 36 years as a public company. CEO Andrew Wilson remains in role. PIF now holds 93.4%.
