Draper in tears during Canadian Open first-round exit, US Open readiness in doubt
Jack Draper wiped tears from his eyes after being broken for 4-1 in the third set of his Canadian Open first-round loss to France's Terence Atmane in Montreal. Atmane won 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. Draper, a 2024 US Open semi-finalist and former world No. 4, has not played since June's Eastbourne semi-finals because of bone bruising in his serving arm. The US Open begins 23 August. His participation is in doubt.
