Ireland's Afghanistan series costs it England's Lord's warm-up Test

Cricket Ireland is hosting Afghanistan for five ODIs across Northern Ireland this month, defying the ECB's refusal to play bilateral cricket against Afghanistan over the Taliban's ban on women's sport. The ECB has chosen Bangladesh over Ireland for next year's Lord's warm-up Test — a slot Ireland filled in 2019 and 2023. England's men have no further Ireland fixtures scheduled.
