Trashcan Sinatras' John Douglas dies at 63, four days after new album release

Trashcan Sinatras guitarist and vocalist John Douglas died at 63 on 3 August 2026, the band confirmed on their website. Bandmates Francis Reader, Paul Livingston, Stephen Douglas and Davy Hughes said they lost their "dear friend and brother John after a brief illness." His death came four days after the release of "Ever the Optimist," the band's seventh album and first in a decade.
