Baby Brooksbank: no royal title under 1917 Letters Patent
Princess Eugenie's third child, a daughter born on 4 August 2026, will not receive a royal title. Under the 1917 Letters Patent of George V — the formal instrument granting princely styles — HRH passes only to children of the sovereign and grandchildren of sons of the sovereign. Eugenie's sons August and Ernest use the surname Brooksbank; the new baby follows the same pattern.
