Michif Director Wapeemukwa Opens Locarno Competition with 'Manhunt'

Wayne Wapeemukwa's sophomore feature 'Manhunt' opens the international competition at the 79th Locarno Film Festival. Wapeemukwa, a Michif filmmaker whose debut 'Luk'Luk'I' won best Canadian feature at TIFF 2017, also holds the DGC Discovery Award. Cinetic Media has North American sales rights; Aspect Ratio handles international. Netflix releases the film in August 2026.
