Final Fantasy XIV launches on Nintendo Switch 2, a first for the MMORPG on a Nintendo platform

Square Enix released Final Fantasy XIV on Nintendo Switch 2 on 4 August 2026 at 3:00 a.m. PDT, per the official Lodestone notice. The launch puts the subscription-based MMORPG on a Nintendo platform for the first time. The Complete Edition is 30% off on the Nintendo eShop through 12 August 2026. A free trial covers the base game plus three expansions.
