Gayle Rankin cast as Jean Brodie — 23 years after playing a schoolgirl in same story at the Royal Lyceum

Gayle Rankin will play Jean Brodie in David Harrower's adaptation of Muriel Spark's novel, produced by the National Theatre of Scotland with the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh. Previews begin 2 October; opening night is 9 October, followed by dates in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Pitlochry until 7 November. Rankin appeared as a schoolgirl in the Lyceum's 2003 staging of the same story.
