Ellison reframes Paramount-Warner antitrust fight as a question of CNN trust

Paramount CEO David Ellison published a New York Times op-ed on August 4, 2026, calling the antitrust litigation over his $111 billion Warner Bros. Discovery takeover a test of "whether I can be trusted as a steward of Warner's CNN," not market power. Twelve state attorneys general and the Writers Guild of America have sued to block the deal.
