A Russian soldier shot dead four people — one fellow soldier and three civilians aged 59 to 71 — in Crimea, a Ukrainian peninsula Moscow annexed in 2014, on August 4, 2026. Three others were injured in the village of Khmelnytske. The attacker was detained; his identity, military branch, and motive remain undisclosed pending investigation.
