Cooper quits leadership role after drinking at team HQ while teammates competed

Isaac Cooper, 22, stood down from Australia's athlete leadership group after missing the final night of the 2026 Commonwealth Games swim meet in Glasgow. The Sydney Morning Herald reported he was seen drinking at team headquarters while teammates competed. He also skipped the team meeting and next morning's training. Swimming Australia said he remains eligible for the Pan Pacific Championships from 12 August.
