Amazon and Sony Recast Kratos After Hurst Injury, Targeting October Restart in Vancouver

Dave Bautista is in talks to replace Ryan Hurst as Kratos in Amazon Prime Video's two-season "God of War" series, per Variety and Deadline (3 August 2026). Hurst tore a bicep on a stunt in late June, pausing production four months in. Amazon and Sony opted to recast rather than wait until 2027. Prep begins mid-August; cameras restart mid-October in Vancouver. Amazon and Sony declined to comment.
