Glasgow School of Art says Mackintosh rebuild would cost £265 million, seeks partners

The Glasgow School of Art says fully rebuilding the fire-damaged Mackintosh Building would cost £265 million (US$356 million) — five times its annual turnover. The school says it cannot pursue the project without external partners. A petition by architect Ruairidh Moir demanding full restoration and transfer of ownership to an independent body has drawn more than 8,300 signatures.
