Cricket Ireland CEO cites 'moral discomfort' over hosting Afghanistan as ODI series begins

Cricket Ireland chief executive Sarah Keane has voiced "moral discomfort" over hosting Afghanistan's men's team, citing the Taliban's effective ban on women in sport. The board nonetheless approved the five-match ODI series, starting August 5. Afghanistan under Taliban rule has effectively barred women from cricket, yet the ICC has not banned the men's side.
