Met's 2027 Galliano Exhibition Will Address His Dior Dismissal and Hate-Crime Charges

The Met's Costume Institute announced a spring 2027 John Galliano retrospective, "John Galliano: Horizons," on view 9 May 2027 to 9 January 2028. Anna Wintour confirmed the exhibition will not shy away from Galliano's 2011 dismissal from Dior after antisemitic remarks that led to two hate-crime charges in Paris, a fine of $8,500, and professional exile. He is only the third living designer to receive a solo Costume Institute show, after Yves Saint Laurent and Rei Kawakubo.
