RTVE joins Netflix and Universal on 'Blanco,' an €8 million film on ETA's 1997 killing of Miguel Ángel Blanco

RTVE has boarded 'Blanco,' Félix Viscarret's €8 million ($9.2 million) feature on the 48 hours after ETA abducted and killed Basque councillor Miguel Ángel Blanco in July 1997. Netflix and Universal Pictures International Spain are already attached. Production starts October 5, 2026; Universal lists an August 6, 2027 Spain release. Blanco's family supports the project (Variety; RTVE).
