Prince Edward Closes 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow

The 2026 Commonwealth Games closed on August 2 at Glasgow's OVO Hydro after 11 days of competition among athletes from more than 70 nations and territories once tied to the British Empire. Prince Edward, Vice-Patron of the Commonwealth Games Federation since 1990, delivered the closing remarks. King Charles and Queen Camilla had opened the Games on July 23.
