Jockey Club to quit Racecourse Association, joining Ascot in historic split

The Jockey Club — owner of Cheltenham, Aintree, Epsom and Newmarket — will leave the Racecourse Association at the end of 2026, joining Ascot. The RCA represents 58 of Britain's 59 racecourses but now loses its two biggest members. CEO Jim Mullen cited the RCA's refusal to back an independent BHA board and fixture-list reform. The pair plan a new organisation.
