Da Cunha's Two-Decade Reboleira Cycle Ends as District Faces Demolition

Portuguese-Swiss director Basil Da Cunha has filmed in Lisbon's Reboleira neighbourhood for over 20 years. His new feature 'O Jacaré' — a Creole- and Portuguese-language thriller — is his final film set there, as the district faces pending demolition. It world-premieres in Locarno's International Competition, with Barcelona-based Low Light Films handling international sales (Variety, 3 August 2026).
