Director Justin Hardy died of a heart attack on July 31, 2026, at 61, his family told BBC News. He had just completed "Wrath of the Gods," the third film in The Wicker Man trilogy begun by his father Robin Hardy in 1973. The film, shot in Shetland and launched at Cannes by Unannounced Film, world-premieres at FrightFest in Leicester Square on August 28, Deadline reports.
