Infantino scraps FIFA sell-off plan after adviser quits and COO alleges deception

Gianni Infantino scrapped his plan to sell stakes in FIFA competitions to private investors after senior adviser Carlos Cordeiro resigned in protest and FIFA's chief operating officer alleged Infantino had deceived employees over the scheme. Infantino announced the reversal on 1 August. There is no indication he intends to resign.
