CBS News hires Sir Trevor Phillips as senior global affairs correspondent and '60 Minutes' contributor

Sir Trevor Phillips, 72, joins Paramount-owned CBS News as senior global affairs correspondent and '60 Minutes' contributor, handpicked by editor-in-chief Bari Weiss (Variety, 3 August 2026). Phillips has been a Sky News correspondent since 2021 and previously chaired the U.K.'s Equality and Human Rights Commission. Weiss was appointed in October 2025 after Skydance Media acquired Paramount.
