Locarno Pro 2026 opens industry programme with AI on day one

Locarno Pro, the industry arm of the 79th Locarno Film Festival, opens its 2026 programme on 6 August with the StepIn session — a panel series on how power structures, politics, AI and data are reshaping independent cinema. Roughly 2,000 accredited professionals are expected across the six-day programme, which runs through 11 August.
