Spokane Complex Fire: 60,000 Evacuated, Zero Containment

Eastern Washington's worst natural disaster, per Mayor Lisa Brown, the Spokane Complex Fire has displaced 60,000 people and destroyed at least 600 structures as of August 3, 2026. Zero containment means firefighters have not yet controlled any of the fire's perimeter. Senator Maria Cantwell warns the coming days remain challenging. Roughly 1,000 sq km have burned statewide. The cause is undetermined.
