Coalition passing bills without select committee review at record rate, data shows

Parliamentary Library data shows 17.4 percent of bills passed in this government's first 940 days skipped select committee scrutiny — passing all stages at once. That is the highest share since records began in 2008. Labour's figure over the same period was 15.5 percent. Total bills passed held steady at just under 200 per term.
